Pioneers in Neurorehabilitation with Dogs, Merging Science and Empathy for an Optimal Quality of Life
The project seeks to implement a program of assisted therapy with dogs in the context of integrated neurorehabilitation, with the aim of improving the quality of life and functional capacities of people with multiple disabilities. Through a combination of technology, research, training and collaboration, we aspire to create an innovative approach that enhances the effectiveness of treatments and generates lasting benefits for people and the community. The application of dog-assisted therapy in the field of neurorehabilitation emerges as a necessary response to the growing needs of a constantly evolving population. People with multiple disabilities face significant challenges in their daily lives, including difficulties in mobility, communication and social participation. This project aims to address these issues holistically, incorporating the therapeutic potential of dogs to improve the well-being and functional capabilities of the attendants.
Targets
1. Development of a dog-assisted therapy protocol adapted to the needs of the people treated.
2. Research and research to evaluate the effectiveness and benefits of dog-assisted therapy in neurorehabilitation.
3. Education and training of health personnel and therapists in the techniques and methodologies of assisted therapy with dogs.
4. Creation of a dissemination platform to share knowledge and resources with the scientific community and users.
