Neurorehabilitative Empowerment: Connecting People, Transforming Lives
Transforming lives through comprehensive neurorehabilitation and mental health: a multidisciplinary initiative by the Aspace Catalunya Foundation to provide personalized care to individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities.
The neurorehabilitation project of the Fundació Aspace Catalunya offers comprehensive care to people with neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities. The aim is to improve the quality of life of these people through a multidisciplinary, personalized approach combined with innovative technologies. This project responds to the growing need for comprehensive care that often finds it difficult to access adequate services. The problems to be addressed include functional and cognitive limitations, as well as barriers to care and rehabilitation.
Targets
1. Assess and improve neuropsychological and cognitive abilities.
2. Improve oral and written communication skills.
3. Optimize functionality and autonomy in activities of daily life.
4. Promote social participation and community integration.
Approach and strategies
The approach is based on multidisciplinary care that combines physical medicine, occupational therapy, speech therapy and other professional areas. Strategies include the use of technologies such as the NeuronUP2GO platform and face-to-face and home sessions.
Planned activities
1. Evaluation of temporal and spatial orientation.
2. Training in cognitive skills such as attention and memory.
3. Language therapy to improve communication.
4. Employment activities to promote daily functionality.
5. Interventions to promote social and community integration.
Expected benefits
In the short term, an improvement in cognitive and functional abilities is expected. In the medium term, greater autonomy and social participation. In the long term, a general improvement in quality of life and emotional well-being.
