Fundació Aspace Catalunya participates in the +Futur conference, organized by the Union, and is nominated as a finalist with the EASEAPPS project.
Last June 20 The Union held the +Futur conference in the CaixaForum Auditorium. This initiative, which had the presence of more than 200 professionals, makes it possible to give visibility to the technological transformations and medical advances that occur in the health and social sector.
This space, a meeting point for the different organizations in the sector in Catalonia, raises the new health, social and technological challenges that we are experiencing within the sector. Focusing, as we already do at Fundació Aspace Catalunya, on the needs of citizens and users throughout their lives, as well as on the relationship that, as organizations, we establish with the different groups.
Faced with this organizational and healthcare revolution, fostering the exchange of knowledge between the different actors becomes necessary. For this reason, the Union organized the 1st Edition of the Awards +Future. 52 entities, including Fundació Aspace Catalunya, presented their experiences.
The experience that we presented from Fundació Aspace Catalunya was the Easeapps project. Remaining among the 5 finalists of this XNUMXst Edition of the +Futur awards. Undoubtedly a recognition of our commitment to technological transformation within the health and social sector.
OPENING A TECHNOLOGICAL WINDOW TO THE WORLD
As we already shared in one previous post, Easeapps is a collaborative health and social entrepreneurship project, which aims to offer technological accessibility solutions to people with motor deficits.
The Easeapps, a set of applications for Android that facilitate the usability of mobile devices for all those affected with motor deficits, were very well received since its release. The experience and testimony of those users who already have them installed on their devices highlights the importance of continuing to work in order to respond to the rehabilitative needs of an entire group. This is why Fundació Aspace Catalunya's commitment to research and technological transformation and the healthcare model is a bet on the future.
In the current context, fast and changing, where information flows and the exchange of knowledge and experiences have undergone a radical transformation, we propose to open a window to the world in order to bring our technological accessibility solutions to everyone .
So, the three applications that make up Easeapps can be found at Play Store, since April 2019.
Ease-Mouse, which allows you to control mobile devices with a mouse, has had 9.606 downloads in just two months and is already installed on 588 devices.
Easy Touch, which allows the control of devices with a single finger, and Easy Joypad, which allows the same using an adapted joystick or switch, have had 294 and 442 downloads respectively and are already installed on more than 155 devices.
Both the recognition of the Catalan Union of Hospitals, and the good reception by other organizations in the sector, means a push to continue developing new projects. Even so, the main motivation of Fundació Aspace Catalunya is to respond to the specific needs of people suffering from cerebral palsy or neurological developmental diseases. Therefore, the best prize we can receive is data on the number of downloads. Indications that these three applications contribute to improving the autonomy of many people.
