Robotics, present at the ASPACE residence

Yesterday, a research team from the Institute of Robotics for the Dependency, a company that wants to carry out a robotics study with the users of the residence, came to the residence.

This study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of social robots as a tool to support the assistant in cognitive stimulation therapy group workshops.

During the performance of a cognitive stimulation activity, in general, assistants must devote time and effort to conducting the activity and focusing the attention of the users. Robots can collaborate in these two tasks, reducing the burden on the assistant, who will be able to devote more to the personalized attention of people, since the robot will automate other tasks and can offload the assistant.

The aim of the study is to carry out an individual and multicentre trial to evaluate the effectiveness of the robot. Two sessions of stimulation activities (musical Bingo), lasting approximately 1 hour, have been carried out for each group of users.

Users have really enjoyed the experience. We show you a photo of the session they came to do.
