ETHICS WORKSHOP ON PRIVACY IN HOUSING SERVICES

ASPACE is present at the round table of the ETHICS DAY 2019: Intimacy in Housing Services for People with Intellectual Disabilities.

On Wednesday 9 October, the Conference on Applied Ethics took place at Montestir de Pedralbes Intimacy in Housing Services for People with DID, organized by DINCAT's ERAESS (Ethical Reflection Space), and of which two ASPACE professionals are members.

The day was opened by Dr. Joan Canimas Brugué, with the presentation of the document prepared by the Ethics Committee of Social Services of Catalonia "Intimacy in residential centers for people with functional diversity. About the use, access and supervision of the spaces".

The reflection on the document took place, then, at the round table where Ms. Lupe Vaca-Narvaja (Director of the residential service of ASPACE), Mrs. Sílvia Alba Ríos (Social Worker of the ASPACE residential service), Mrs. Mabel Clavell (user of the ASPACE residential service) and Mrs. Carme Gotsens (mother of a user of ASPACE's residential service).

However, other workers and users of the Fundació Sant Pere Claver, as well as the Fundació Pere Mitjans, participated in the round table, each contributing their experiences and practices regarding the approach to the right to privacy.

With the attendance of approximately 120 people, a reflection was made on how to improve the actions that lead us to guarantee the privacy of people living in residences, residential homes and supervised flats as much as possible.
