ETHICS ASPACE. Talk: Deciding for the other

Yesterday, Wednesday, October 2, the professor of applied ethics at the University of Girona, Joan Canimes i Brugué, gave the talk "Deciding for others" to the families of adult users of School services, Occupational Centers and Residence.

It is training subsidized by the Department of Labour, Social Affairs and Families, and organized through the Family Support Groups program of DINCAT, in which the ASPACE-CIM family support group is affiliated.

One of the general principles of the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2006) is respect for the freedom to make one's own decisions. Professor Canimes invited families to reflect on this principle and fundamental right, taking into account the evolution of rights and the current situation of people with disabilities, projecting a view of the future.

Several families attended the services of ASPACE.

The next workshop for families will take place on the day 5 December from 9.30am to 14pm - at the CIM-, by psychologist Sílvia Picón, who will guide us on "how to help manage our children's emotions".
