Improvement of linguistic uses among users of the Aspace Catalunya Foundation

La Linguistic Strategies Consulting gave four workshops focused on optimizing linguistic uses, with special emphasis on increasing the use of Catalan in everyday situations, to users of the Residence and the Occupational Day Center of the Aspace Catalunya Foundation.

The workshops, adapted to the needs of people with disabilities, included practical and dynamic activities such as role-playing games and simulations of real conversations. These dynamics aimed to break automatic routines that lead to language switching to Spanish, often without real need. Likewise, confidence in oral expression in Catalan was fostered, helping to overcome barriers such as the fear of making mistakes or lack of security.

Promotion of Catalan as a tool for social inclusion

One of the key points of these workshops was raise awareness about the importance of maintaining Catalan as a vehicular language, not only in the personal sphere, but also in the work and social environment. Participants received strategies to incorporate Catalan naturally into their day-to-day lives, thus reinforcing their full inclusion in the community.

The foundation's professionals also had the opportunity to train to improve their communication skills in Catalan with users, contributing to an inclusive and respectful work environment with linguistic diversity.

A step forward towards inclusion

The Aspace Catalonia Foundation, with the support of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia, reaffirms its commitment to promoting the social and linguistic integration of people with disabilities. Activities such as these workshops not only improve the language skills of the participants, but also contribute to increasing their self-esteem and confidence in communication, promoting greater participation in community life. Thanks to this type of initiative, social cohesion is strengthened and contributes to creating a more inclusive environment for all members of the foundation.
