The Aspace Montjuïc Residential Care Service has incorporated new tilting shower chairs ETAC Mobile Tilt to improve postural safety and comfort for users during personal hygiene processes. This action is part of the center's commitment to offering safer, adapted and person-centered care.
The new chairs have a system of progressive tilting which allows the position to be adjusted according to the postural needs of each person, especially in cases of severe motor impairments, dystonias or difficulties in maintaining verticality. This adaptability contributes to reducing risks, promotes more comfortable hygiene and guarantees more dignified care.
In addition to benefiting users, the incorporation of this equipment also facilitates the work of professionals. The possibility of making controlled postural changes during the shower minimizes physical effort, reduces the risk of injuries and improves working conditions during mobilizations and transfers.
According to the interdisciplinary team, this update represents “a step forward to improve the quality of care and guarantee safer, more comfortable and adapted processes”. Professionals also point out that, until now, the devices available did not allow an optimal response in all situations, especially when additional stability or specific postural adjustments were needed.
Aspace Montjuïc serves people with multiple disabilities and high support needs, and this improvement is part of the strategy of Aspace Catalonia Foundation to move towards a model of integrated, safe and person-centered care. The equipment has been acquired following criteria of quality, ergonomics and durability, with the aim of ensuring that daily care is carried out with maximum safety and well-being.
To ensure proper implementation, a internal training with the service professionals, addressing aspects of safety, mobilization, risk prevention, correct use of equipment and maintenance protocols. In this way, compliance with the healthcare standards that define the service is reinforced.
With this incorporation, the Aspace Montjuïc Residential Care Service reaffirms its will to continue updating spaces and facilities, placing the safety, autonomy and well-being of residents at the center. This action is part of a continuous improvement process that will continue over the coming months with new updates aimed at reinforcing quality and safety in daily care.
