Under the motto of the professions, people from different centers of the Foundation shared a physical and sports day designed to promote movement, coexistence, teamwork and a sense of belonging.
The CIM facilities hosted a new edition of the Aspace Catalunya Intercentre , one of the most anticipated events of the year for people who are part of the Foundation. The day brought together participants from different centres, Residencia, CIM, CDO, CTO Badalona and CTO Poblenou , in a proposal of adapted physical activity that combined movement, play, creativity and coexistence.
Beyond a sporting activity, the Intercentre is an initiative that reinforces the active participation of people with cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities in an environment adapted to their needs . In practice, this allows each person to get involved in the activity according to their pace, their abilities and the support they need, experiencing sport as a tool for well-being, socialization and quality of life.
A day to move, share and participate
This year, the theme of professions provided a common thread throughout the session. Participants were organized into mixed groups and visited five stations inspired by different professional fields: music, medicine, traffic education, painting and secret agents.
In each of these stations, the motor and recreational activities were adapted to guarantee real and meaningful participation. This translated into dynamics designed so that people could move, express themselves, cooperate and enjoy the experience in a safe, accessible and shared context.
Adapted physical activity with a holistic approach
The Intercentre is part of Aspace Catalunya's annual sports program and is part of the Foundation's comprehensive care model , which understands adapted physical activity as a key tool to promote well-being, autonomy, participation and the relationship with the environment.
The day was organized by the Foundation's sports team and involved assistants, monitors and physiotherapists . This coordinated work allowed us to offer a proposal tailored to the support needs of each person, in line with a way of understanding care based on support, specialization and quality of life.
An experience that creates links between centers
During the morning, participants collected symbolic elements at each station, which were later shared at the closing ceremony. The joint closing included a dance, photographs at photocalls and a shared celebration space between participants and professionals.
This final moment highlighted one of the great values of the Intercentre: its ability to generate bonds between people from different services and centres, reinforcing the feeling of belonging to Aspace Catalunya.
With a long history within the Foundation, the Intercentre continues to consolidate itself as an initiative that makes visible the value of adapted physical activity in highly complex contexts. A day that reinforces Aspace Catalunya's commitment to people-centered care, oriented towards participation and well-being throughout the entire life cycle.
