Radio is much more than a means of communication. In Badalona Occupational Therapy Center, has become a space for coexistence, expression and shared learning. The radio workshop, with a long history and much loved by users, encourages active participation, listening and empathy, in addition to giving voice to the concerns and interests of the group.
A collective speaker
In this workshop, the voice of each participant is the protagonist. The ideas, curiosities and passions of the boys and girls are the driving force behind each program. Based on brainstorming, the theme is decided: what is happening in the world? What issues challenge us as a group? What stories do we want to tell? From this debate, a script is born, written as a team, where each person contributes their bit, whether by writing, proposing topics or enriching the content.
From the idea to the digital waves
The process is as enriching as the result. Once the script is defined, the participants step in front of the microphone to bring the program to life. With the help of the software Audacity, they record, edit and prepare the final audio, which is then published on workshop blog: radioblogbadalona.blogspot.comThere, the entire production of the group is collected, a living archive of the work done over the years.
A classic medium, a current experience
Despite being the oldest means of communication, radio is still alive and well. In Badalona Occupational Therapy Center, is a pedagogical and emotional resource that strengthens social bonds, improves oral and written expression and, above all, connects people with the world and with themselves.
In the words of the group itself, it is a workshop that “helps us to be informed, to grow and to feel that our voice matters.” Because here, radio is not just communication: it is community.
