A diagnosis to continue improving from a social commitment to people
The Aspace Catalunya Foundation has analyzed the use of Catalan among its professionals with the aim of continuing to improve the quality of care and guarantee close, clear and respectful communication with users and their families.
The survey, framed within the new linguistic management plan for the entity, has counted on the participation of 129 professionals and shows a positive reality: Catalan is present and used naturally in many areas of day-to-day work.
This project is part of the Aspace Catalunya's commitment to corporate social responsibility, understanding communication and linguistic rights as an essential element to guarantee person-centered, accessible and quality care.
A good level of Catalan in oral communication
Almost three out of four professionals (75,2%) have an advanced level of Catalan, and 88,4% say they can hold professional conversations in Catalan comfortablyThese data reflect a consolidated presence of Catalan in oral communication within the organization.

Strengthen the written use of Catalan
As to written use, 61,2% of professionals write in Catalan daily, while 83% alternate Catalan and Spanish depending on the work situation and the needs of the people served.
These data allow identify opportunities for improvement and continue promoting resources that facilitate the use of Catalan also in written communication, thus reinforcing the communicative quality and accessibility of information.
Professionals eager to continue learning
Un 60,5% of professionals express interest in receiving training to improve their level of Catalan, especially in the technical field. Language training is, in fact, the action that arouses the most interest among all the proposals raised in the survey.
This interest reflects the teams' involvement and the desire to continue moving towards a communication that is increasingly inclusive, accessible and adapted to people's needs.
A Plan to guarantee linguistic rights
This diagnosis is part of the The Foundation's language management plan, a document that establishes measures to guarantee the linguistic rights of users and professionals, in accordance with instruction 02/2024 of the Catalan Health Service.
The goal is ensure that all people can express themselves and be served in Catalan, both orally and in writing, if they so wish, promoting respectful attention to linguistic and cultural diversity.
Actions to encourage closer communication
The Plan includes different actions to continue progressing in this area., such as training initiatives linked to the program “Prescribe Catalan to yourself”, promoted by the Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya, as well as practical workshops, language pair programs, awareness-raising actions and the creation of an internal commission to promote and coordinate these activities.
These initiatives reinforce Aspace Catalunya's commitment to continuous improvement, the professional development of teams and the quality of care provided to people.
