Professionals from Aspace Catalunya present at the SENPE 2026 state congress a project that combines clinical observation and physiological signals to advance towards a more objective, safe and people-centered assessment.
The Aspace Catalonia Foundation has participated in the 41st National Congress of the Spanish Society of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (SENPE), held in Pamplona, one of the main state reference spaces in clinical nutrition, dysphagia and health research.
In this context, Laura Daniela Pedreros, biomedical engineer, and Victoria Pascuas Gonzalez, speech therapist, together with professionals from the Aspace Catalunya Foundation, have presented the scientific poster "Integrated evaluation of swallowing in people with cerebral palsy through clinical observation and recording of physiological signals", focused on the development of new tools for assessing swallowing in people with cerebral palsy.
The initiative combines clinical observation with the simultaneous recording of different physiological signals, such as muscle activity, breathing or heart rate, with the aim of obtaining more objective indicators on the safety and effectiveness of swallowing.
