Some institutions have adopted this year's motto with "Promote the importance of human relationships" taking into account the social relations between people, their environment and their future.
The Social Work Area is crucial in many aspects related to the improvement of human relations. Some clear examples are: the approach to the preventive function of groups in situations of social risk, direct attention for the accompaniment of people with social needs, expert help for the planning of agreements to achieve proposed objectives , raising awareness in society through dissemination or teaching sessions, promoting the promotion and social integration of the most vulnerable groups, or offering mediation for the resolution of conflicts.
In this sense, from the Social Work Area, the Aspace Catalunya Foundation contributes value in the development of functions such as theassessment of the needs of the person and/or their family group in a global and individualized way. We understand that each person is unique and so is their life time. For this reason, demands are dynamic. Each stage of life generates different psychosocial needs and demands that depend, to a large extent, on the socio-familial context in which they appear.
From Aspace we work to support these social needs, from childhood to old age, to the people and families we serve.
It is for this reason that we see the need to organize a work methodology that accompanies people and their families throughout the entire care process, giving coverage to the different demands that can be given during the life cycle of the people served at Aspace.
We welcome and inform about the social, educational, community and health services we offer from Aspace. At the same time, we also guide and inform about resources, rights, services and benefits, offering accompaniment and support throughout the care process. We activate the family's own resources (empowerment), we monitor families in situations of risk or social vulnerability. We also conduct joint interviews with other professionals, as well as home visits.
We coordinate with other services such as: education, health, social services, others, we intervene in family support programs (mutual aid groups and others) and we work on the link between the family and the service.
We also regularly coordinate with different devices in the network: Catsalut, Social Services, EAP, Cdiap, schools, hospitals, clinics, other resources and entities. As well as, with other specialists who are part of the interdisciplinary team of our organization.
We consider social work as a tool to help transform people's lives, collaborating together with the other Aspace professionals in the promotion of human and social relationships. Aspace's Social Work professionals are much more than resource managers.
We work on the needs and manage the resolution of problems with the aim of generating positive changes for the people served and their families, making the most of the resources and capabilities of the person and their environment.
