Today, January 28, is the European Data Protection Day, and it helps us to become aware and adopt a proactive attitude of responsibility towards the personal data of the users of our services.
From the Aspace Catalunya Foundation, we have been ensuring the protection of our users' data for many years, but since the European regulations came into force, even more so, due to the changes brought about by the European Regulations.
We consider it very important to sensitize and make all our professionals aware of the importance of ensuring the security of the data of our patients and service users. For this reason, we regularly train and provide information so that professionals manage data according to the security measures we implement from the entity.
Due to the fact that we are a health, social and educational entity, we process sensitive data of users in vulnerable situations. This should make us be even more careful in the treatments we do, and therefore not only limit ourselves to legal compliance but also reflect on key aspects in the treatment of data, such as basic principles of proportionality, responsibility, minimization , legality, consent, among others.
This year, we would like to give special importance to inform about the phising, an impersonation technique, in which someone pretends to be someone they are not in order to obtain access keys or passwords and thus access that person's data illegitimately. This threat is becoming more and more common. From Aspace we work continuously so that professionals can detect these threats and act correctly.
