'Dare to meet me' campaign – #yomeatrevo
October 4 is World Cerebral Palsy Day and the ASPACE Confederation has launched an awareness campaign.
This campaign "Dare to know me" aims to try to eliminate the prejudices that may exist in communication between people with cerebral palsy and people without disabilities. The initiative will remain active until October 4, World Day of People with Cerebral Palsy, at which time meetings will take place in public spaces of the main Spanish cities between these people and citizens of the street to chat and get to know each other you to you."
The campaign bases its activity on an informative and didactic spot that offers guidelines and practical advice for communicating with anyone who has cerebral palsy. The spot will be broadcast on different dates nationally on Televisió Española and Atresmedia (La Sexta and Antena3TV), and locally on 8MadridTV, Castilla i Lleó TV, Localia Vigo, V Televisión de Galícia and TV3 in Catalonia

Our colleagues from Aspace Jaén have also recorded a video with the motto of this year's campaign, entitled "I dare". The emotional video of our colleagues is to raise awareness about cerebral palsy.

This year they demand "not only from the administrations, but from all of society, the recognition of the diversity of people with cerebral palsy, access to new technologies and residences, the support and assistance service at home, more and better habilitation and rehabilitation services and resources for an adequate standard of living."
