#ASPACENET helps 1.260 people with cerebral palsy develop their creativity

A total of 1.260 people with cerebral palsy have participated in the 2016 edition of #ASPACEnet, which closes this July, in technological innovation projects applied and adapted to this disability. ASPACE is one of the winning projects with "No nos cortamos".

#ASPACEnet is a competition for social innovation projects that the ASPACE Confederation and the Vodafone Spain Foundation launched in 2011 to improve the autonomy and quality of life of people with cerebral palsy through the use of new technologies.

"We don't cut each other", it is a Project that consists of providing organizations that work with boys with functional diversity, specifically cerebral palsy, with audiovisual material and technical adaptations for the production and filming of a Short Film. It is a very innovative project as it involves the joint work of Entities from the same sector, with a standardized purpose, such as the creation and recording of a Short Film, which can then be presented at different Short Film Festivals.

The ASPACE-Badalona Center and AREMI Lleida participate in this project, with Angel Aguilar from the ASPACE CRA service and member of ASPACENET also collaborating with the project.

As a result of these projects, several radio channels have been created with live broadcasts as well as the publication of a video channel adapted stories, the creation of tourist guides and adapted school teaching units or the preparation of adapted recipes .

The six collaborative projects awarded by the VI National Competition for Projects in Support and Communication Technologies #ASPACEnet have had the participation of 17 ASPACE entities, which have put their creativity at the service of technology to develop low-cost adaptations that allow people with cerebral palsy to access daily and creative activities that they would not be able to do without these solutions.

Other awarded projects:

ASPACEchef: It was launched in order to enable people with cerebral palsy to carry out everyday tasks, thus creating a kitchen workshop adapted to their needs, skills and abilities.

InROUTE2: Created by ASPACE Lleó and ASPACE Salamanca to produce accessible video guides of the most touristic areas of Salamanca and León for people with reduced mobility, so that they can consult possible itineraries, exit and leisure routes.

Create online: Website launched by ASPACEBA and UPACESUR to generate didactic units of the school curriculum of the ASPACE Salamanca educational center.

We don't cut each other   ASPACE Barcelona and AREMI Lleida came together to launch this initiative in which each entity produced a short film which was then screened as part of a festival open to the public, in an inclusive environment with the attendance of almost 200 people . People with cerebral palsy were the protagonists of the entire process of creating the short films thanks to the acquisition of technological equipment that allows people with more support to play key roles both in front of and behind the camera.

Radio Network: The project was born in 2015 with AMAPPACE and its radio "Enreda2" alongside ASPACE A Coruña, which already had experience on the airwaves with its "Radio dels Gats". In 2016 they were joined by the previous APAMPDA, APAMP Vigo radio. The three entities set out to create this radio space that can be heard through Facebook, as well as to advise other entities that want to launch radio projects like theirs.

PCTV on demand: APACE Toledo, ASPACE Asturias and ATENPACE came together to launch the first online television made by people with cerebral palsy thanks to the use of adapted technical resources, which has allowed all the people involved to carry out their own functions of a television team.
