ACTIVITIES AND INITIATIVES ON WORLD CEREBRAL PALSY DAY

Yesterday was World Cerebral Palsy Day, and we celebrated it at all ASPACE centers

On the occasion of World Cerebral Palsy Day, all ASPACE centers carried out different activities and initiatives in order to give visibility to the group. We highlight the reading of the Manifesto under the motto "a better future".

Apart from the reading, in all Aspace adult centers, the video of the Confederación's campaign "A better future" was shown. This facilitated the initiation of a debate on the rights of the collective. The urgent need to build a future where people with cerebral palsy are recognized, as well as their needs, was one of the main themes.

We should also highlight the initiative of the Poblenou d'Aspace occupational center that produced a video that brings us closer to the daily activity of the people who use the center.

More dynamic activities were also carried out, such as the choreographed dance to the song "jo sóc com tu". An entire anthem, sung by different artists, which was the highlight of the Maresme Foundation's Disability Festival. On the occasion of the State of Alarm due to covid19, these artists went one step further. The result: an inclusive choreography that allows dancing while seated in a wheelchair.

As you already know, given the current circumstances, this Sunday we will not be able to participate in the "On the march for cerebral palsy" race. An activity that we looked forward to every year. Even so, we will celebrate and fill the nets.

We appreciate the strong participation of users and professionals. We are happy to be able to visualize the importance of giving a voice to the group of people with cerebral palsy.
