From the sports department we often incorporate music into our activities. We understand that it is a motivating resource for users, since by adding this playful component we promote physical activity. In addition, by introducing music into the sports sessions we make the rhythm appear naturally.
If we combine these three concepts, rhythm, music and movement, we get as a result a development of motor and cognitive skills, while working on the more social and emotional part. This result is the result of the brain's work in having to work, on the one hand, on musical and rhythmic perception and, on the other, physical movement -related, most of the time, to musical perception itself.
Music provides a fun and motivating component that often cannot be achieved through other media. If, in addition, it is the users who choose the topics, the level of motivation increases. With this, a better control of the activity is achieved and a reduction in the perception of effort, affecting an improvement in mood and adherence to the exercise.
