In the talk in which families of adult users of ASPACE participated, death and grief were discussed, while sharing experiences and accompanying tools during the process.
Death is part of everyone's life. Grief is a process that goes through when the loss of a loved one occurs. People with disabilities may need assistance to make this process less painful.
On January 18, social worker and family therapist Àngels Ponce gave Aspace a talk for families, where she addressed the concept of death and also life.
The families were able to share their personal experiences and concerns to accompany their children or relatives at the time of a loss.
Fifteen families participated in the workshop. They positively valued talking openly about death and how people with disabilities have the right to be informed, to be present and to be part of the process.
