The participation of the Aspace Catalunya Foundation in the Physiotherapy graduation and the double degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and Physiotherapy strengthens the link between the university, the profession and healthcare entities to train professionals prepared to respond to highly complex contexts.
Berta Ferreras , psychopedagogical coordinator of the Social Area of the Aspace Catalunya Foundation, linked to Mataró and with an outstanding career as an Olympic swimmer , has sponsored the 2026 promotion of the Physiotherapy studies and the double degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and Physiotherapy of the TecnoCampus.
The ceremony brought together the university community, representatives of the profession and healthcare entities in a space to recognize the talent of the new graduates and to reflect on the social and healthcare challenges they will have to face.
Farreras ' participation allowed the vision of the Aspace Catalunya Foundation, based on comprehensive care, high specialization and interdisciplinary work, to be transferred to the university environment. A model aimed at providing personalized responses to people with complex neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities throughout the entire life cycle.
A profession that begins with listening
During his speech, Ferreras invited new professionals to understand the profession beyond the application of knowledge and techniques . He also highlighted the importance of knowing the reality of each person, listening to them and actively incorporating them into decision-making.
"Your best tool will not only be your hands or scientific knowledge, but the ability to listen, work as a team and understand each person's reality. This is where physiotherapy transforms lives," he pointed out.
At the Aspace Catalunya Foundation, physiotherapy is part of interdisciplinary teams in which professionals from the health, social and educational fields work in a coordinated manner . This way of working allows interventions to be adapted to the needs, capacities and life project of each person, promoting their autonomy, participation and quality of life.

The event was also attended by Carlos Varela, director of Transversal Operations and the Social Sphere of the Aspace Catalunya Foundation.
During the day, the representatives of the entity met with Ramon Aiguadé, dean of the College of Physiotherapists of Catalonia. This exchange space highlighted the need to continue strengthening the relationship between the university world, professional associations and entities that work directly with people.
These alliances allow us to share knowledge, bring future professionals closer to complex healthcare realities and promote physiotherapy based on evidence, innovation, social commitment and networking.
