The Foundation shared its knowledge at the 2nd La Unió Social Conference, where it contributed to the debate on the future of the sector and presented a model of collaboration with vocational training that incorporates the people served as active agents of learning.
The Aspace Catalunya Foundation has participated in the 2nd Social Conference of La Unió , held under the motto Innovate to care better . The meeting brought together professionals, entities and representatives of public administrations to share knowledge and move towards more coordinated, innovative and people-centered social services.
The participation of Aspace Catalunya has allowed it to contribute its experience in two strategic areas for the future of the sector: the transformation of care models and the incorporation of new professionals with training closer to the reality of people with disabilities and complex support needs.
A shared view on the future of social services
Elena Puigdevall, general director of the Aspace Catalunya Foundation, moderated the discussion panel "Social and health transformation in Catalonia: challenges and opportunities for the future".
This space has allowed us to analyze some of the main challenges of social services, such as the need to strengthen coordination between different areas of care, incorporate innovation and take advantage of the opportunities of digital transformation.
Participation in this debate reinforces the role of Aspace Catalunya as an active agent within the social and healthcare ecosystem, contributing the knowledge acquired in supporting people with complex neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities throughout the entire life cycle.
Connecting training with people's reality
During the table of experiences and good practices, Berta Ferreras , psychopedagogical coordinator of the Social Field, presented the project "Connecting talent and professional training: an innovative model of job insertion in the social field".
The initiative strengthens the collaboration between Aspace Catalunya and vocational training centers to bring students closer to the reality of the social sector and provide them with training experiences linked to professional practice.
This model allows future professionals to learn first-hand about the needs, supports and capacities of people with multiple disabilities. At the same time, it contributes to generating vocations, attracting talent and preparing professionals with greater knowledge, sensitivity and capacity to work in highly complex contexts.
The people served, protagonists of the training
One of the distinguishing elements of the project is the active role of the people served by the Foundation . Through their participation, they share experiences, knowledge and perspectives with the students, contributing directly to their training.
In practice, this allows future professionals to learn not only from academic content, but also from the experience and voice of the people they will be accompanying. Training thus becomes more human, experiential and person-centered.
This way of working recognizes the people being cared for as knowledge agents and reinforces a model based on participation, dignity and the shared construction of care processes.
