The Foundation's professionals have delved into methodologies that allow them to better interpret the needs of each child, adapt communication supports and promote their participation and well-being.
The professionals of the Aspace Catalonia Foundation have completed training in sensory and basal stimulation, integrated into the specialized program in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) promoted by the ASPACE Confederation.
This training strengthens the teams' skills to offer more accessible, personalized and child-centered care. The knowledge acquired allows them to expand the forms of interaction and generate more opportunities for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities to express themselves, participate and relate to their environment.
Understand each response as an opportunity for communication
Sensory and basal stimulation helps professionals observe and interpret more precisely the responses, preferences and needs of each child. This perspective is especially relevant in highly complex situations, in which communication can be expressed through different channels and requires an intervention adjusted to the characteristics of each person.
In practice, this knowledge allows us to better adapt interactions, respect individual rhythms and establish more meaningful communicative bonds. It also facilitates the identification of each child's responses and contributes to enhancing their communicative abilities from a global perspective.
