An environmental action that reinforces the entity's model of inclusion and social responsibility
The Aspace Catalunya Foundation has celebrated its 2nd Collaborative Cleaning Day at the Jardins Mossèn Cinto Verdaguer in Montjuïc with a central element: the active role of people as agents of change within the community.
Nearly 100 people, including users, professionals from Aspace Catalunya and the Green Brigade of Barcelona City Council, have been actively involved in this initiative, directly contributing to the care of a public space shared with citizens.
People who contribute, people who transform
Beyond the activity, the day makes visible an essential change in perspective: people with neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities not only receive support, but also form an active part of the community and contribute to it.
During the morning, they participated in the waste collection, joining efforts to keep a very busy environment clean. In total, about 6 kg of waste was collected, mainly plastics and cans, in an action that highlights a real, visible and shared contribution.
Inclusion that is built from practice
These types of initiatives are part of the Aspace Catalunya model, based on active participation and the development of autonomy. It is not just about doing activities, but about generating opportunities for people to play a role in society, based on their abilities.
The day has generated spaces for relationships between users, professionals and municipal teams, promoting coexistence that goes beyond the specific moment and contributes to breaking down barriers in a real way.
Well-being that connects with the environment
Contact with nature has also had a direct impact on the well-being of the participants. Walking through the gardens, sharing the activity and being part of a meaningful action generates positive experiences that reinforce motivation, connection and quality of life, especially in highly complex contexts.
An action aligned with a global commitment
This initiative is part of the Aspace Catalunya Foundation's commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, understood as a way to generate real impact from daily activity.
Actions like this contribute to global goals such as health and well-being, social inclusion and environmental sustainability, aligning the entity's model with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
More than a day, a way of doing things
The evaluation of the day has been very positive, with a clear desire to repeat the experience by the participants. The collaboration with the Barcelona City Council, within the framework of the Endreça Plan, reinforces this line of work shared with the city. But beyond the data, what remains is an image: people working together, taking care of a space that belongs to everyone.
A simple gesture, but with a deep meaning.
Because when a person participates, contributes and recognizes themselves as part of the community, not only is the environment transformed.
The way we understand inclusion is also transformed.
The way we understand inclusion is also transformed.
And this is where Aspace Catalunya continues to advance: building a more inclusive, more conscious and more shared society, through daily action.
