Aspace Catalunya, awarded for its excellence in data protection and inclusion

The Foundation receives the first prize in the #CodiTipus Awards from the Catalan Union of Hospitals for a pioneering project that combines security, transparency and accessibility for everyone.

The Aspace Catalunya Foundation has been awarded first prize in the 3rd call for the Awards #Data Protection Type Code, organized by the Catalan Hospitals Union, for an innovative initiative that reinforces its commitment to ethical, secure and inclusive information management.

The awarded project was led by Yolanda Elipe, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability and Data Protection Officer, and for Paul Mussach, Director of Information Systems, who supports data protection with his technological expertise. Together they have promoted a model that places the understandability and accessibility of security measures at the center, guaranteeing the right to privacy also for people with higher support needs.

“This project reflects our commitment as a secure, reliable and benchmark entity: we protect data, but above all we protect people.”

The award was presented by Ms.Meritxell Borràs i Solé, director of the Catalan Data Protection Authority, during a conference that also addressed the new European Regulation on Artificial Intelligence and the challenges in guaranteeing fundamental rights.

The meeting recognized initiatives in the health and social sector that promote a culture of responsibility and innovation in information privacy and security, highlighting the social impact of good practices.

This award represents a strategic milestone for Aspace Catalunya, which continues to consolidate itself as a transparent, solid entity committed to people's rights, especially in an increasingly demanding digital context.
