The Aspace Catalunya Foundation has received a visit from a group of students from the University of Chicago , as part of a training stay aimed at learning about the healthcare and social system of Catalonia and different healthcare devices in the territory.
The visit, planned through La Unió, has allowed students to get a first-hand look at a comprehensive care model that combines the health, social and educational fields to respond to people with cerebral palsy, neurodevelopmental disorders and multiple disabilities in highly complex contexts.
The group was made up of around twenty students aged between 20 and 30 , mostly linked to Masters in Public Health and Neurosciences . During the day, they were able to learn about the operation of Aspace Catalunya, its healthcare model and the way in which the entity articulates specialized support throughout the life cycle of people.
An international perspective on specialized care
The students' stay in Catalonia includes visits to various resources in the health and social system, such as hospitals, primary care centers and intermediate care facilities.
