On the occasion of the Barcelona Marathon, a solidarity initiative is born between the TEAM LEWIS Foundation and Aspace Catalunya

Samuel Dean, director of the TEAM LEWIS Foundation, will run the Barcelona Marathon with a charitable objective: to raise funds and give visibility to people with neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities.

On the occasion of the Barcelona Marathon, the city is also hosting a solidarity initiative that combines sport and social commitment. Samuel Dean, director of the TEAM LEWIS Foundation, will participate in the race with a clear objective: to raise funds to support the work of the Aspace Catalunya Foundation through the Migranodearena solidarity platform.

The initiative was born as a personal challenge with a desire for social transformation. Dean had set himself the goal of raising 2.000 euros, a figure that has already been exceeded, reaching 3.615 euros, and which can still continue to grow thanks to new contributions. The funds raised will be used to strengthen the projects and services that Aspace Catalunya promotes to improve the quality of life of people with neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities.

Sport as a driver of solidarity and awareness

Beyond financial collection, the initiative contributes to giving visibility to the reality of people with high complexity and their families, and highlights the importance of building alliances between the social sector and the business world to promote innovative responses to major social challenges.

Every kilometer traveled through the streets of Barcelona thus becomes an opportunity to raise awareness in society and generate opportunities for people who require intensive support throughout their lives.

The social commitment of the TEAM LEWIS Foundation

This action is part of the philosophy of the TEAM LEWIS Foundation, which promotes support for social organizations through financial donations, volunteer programs and creative services.

Each year, TEAM LEWIS professionals can choose an organization to which to allocate part of their charitable efforts. In this edition, The Aspace Catalunya Foundation has been the selected organization, thus reinforcing the shared commitment to projects that generate social impact and improve people's quality of life.

A visit to learn more about Aspace's work

On the occasion of Samuel Dean's visit to Barcelona, today March 12, a visit was carried out to the Aspace Catalunya Foundation with the participation of Samuel Dean and Nuria Mañá, director of TEAM LEWIS Spain.

The meeting allowed us to learn more about the work of Aspace Catalunya and the work that the organization carries out to respond to the needs of people with neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities, as well as explore possible avenues for future collaboration between both organizations.

A cause with an impact on the lives of many people

The funds raised will be used to strengthen the projects and services promoted by the Aspace Catalonia Foundation, a leading entity with more than sixty years of experience in caring for people with neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities.

Aspace Catalunya works to offer comprehensive care throughout all stages of life, combining specialized healthcare services with social innovation initiatives, research and development of new care models. This approach allows us to respond to the complexity of the needs of this group and move towards increasingly personalized and inclusive care models.

With a focus on the person and their life project, the entity also promotes innovative projects in the clinical, social and technological fields with the aim of generating new opportunities and improving the quality of life of people and their families.

An alliance that strengthens social commitment

Aspace Catalunya would like to express special gratitude to the TEAM LEWIS Foundation for choosing the entity as the beneficiary of this year's donation and, especially, for Samuel Dean's personal gesture of running the marathon with the aim of giving visibility and support to our mission.

The meeting held today also served to highlight the potential of alliances between the business world and the social sector to generate new opportunities for collaboration with impact.

At a time when major social challenges require shared responses, initiatives like this demonstrate that the sum of individual and collective commitments can contribute to driving real changes in the lives of many people.

To Aspace Catalonia, each alliance is also an opportunity to advance its mission: build a more inclusive society, with more opportunities and a better quality of life for people with neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities.

“When sport and social commitment meet, every kilometer traveled can become an opportunity to improve the lives of many people with high complexity.”

How to collaborate

People who want to join this solidarity initiative can make their contribution through the platform Migranodearena.

The donations will help strengthen the programs and services that Aspace Catalunya develops to improve the quality of life of people with neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities and their families.
