The Aspace Catalunya Foundation takes a step forward in the reinforcement of its strategic governance with the incorporation of Àlex Guarga as a new member of the Board of Trustees, a professional with an extensive career in the health system and solid experience in health planning and management.
With this appointment, the entity reinforces its commitment to advance more efficient, integrated and focused care models for people with neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities, in a context in which the challenges health, social and educational they require an expert and clearly strategic perspective.
Specialist in Internal Medicine and Family and Community Medicine (MFiC), Guarga has developed a career that combines healthcare experience with management responsibilities within the public system. He has been manager and director of the Health Area of the Catalan Health Service, leading key areas such as healthcare planning, the organization of highly complex services, the purchase of services and the evaluation of health policies.
He has also coordinated the development of several health plans in Barcelona and the metropolitan area, providing a global and transformative vision of the system. Graduate in management from ESADE and associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the UAB, his career has been recognized with the Jordi Gol AwardCurrently, is part of the governing council of the Anoia healthcare consortium.
Her Incorporation into the Board of Trustees of Aspace Catalunya strengthens the entity's capacity to face future challenges, especially in improving the quality of life of the people treated, optimizing services and promoting care models that are more coordinated with the healthcare system.
