Consolidation of the comprehensive care model, new award-winning website, healthcare growth, strategic alliances and commitment to sustainability
The Aspace Catalonia Foundation has made its Annual Report 2024, a strategic document that includes the main advances of a year marked by innovation, quality care and transformative leadership. With a focus on people and social impact, the Foundation reinforces its public vocation and its commitment to comprehensive and humanized care for people with cerebral palsy, neurodevelopmental disorders and multiple disabilities.
Highlights of 2024:
Petit Aspace: a pioneering commitment to childhood with high complexity
It has been consolidated. Little Aspace, the first day hospital in the State for children aged 0 to 3 years with high neurological complexity. The service offers intensive, interdisciplinary and family-centered care, with recognized clinical and social impacts. It is an innovative model that has already become a national and international benchmark in specialized early care.
Healthcare and territorial growth
During 2024, the Foundation has registered a sustained increase in clinical and therapeutic activity, both more than 3.500 people served, more than 70.000 healthcare interventions i 38.000 outpatient visits. Territorial coverage has been extended to all healthcare regions of Catalonia, consolidating a model of continuous and intensive care. At the same time, the new institutional website has surpassed the 156.000 visits.
Quality and safety as axes of transformation
It has been launched. first Strategic Plan for Quality and Patient Safety, with 8 strategic lines and 47 specific actions, which place healthcare excellence and the culture of continuous improvement at the center of all areas of the Foundation.
New Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Plan
2024 has also marked the deployment of a new CSR Plan with ESG vision (environmental, social and good governance)The result of a collaborative process with the Board of Trustees and the management team, the plan includes actions such as:
- A reduction of 35,5% in electricity consumption and a generation of 34,6% renewable energy thanks to solar panels.
- Hiring with social impact and actions to support families.
- Good governance practices, internal transparency channels and active participation mechanisms.
Digital transformation with institutional recognition
The new corporate website, conceived as a tool for connection, access and inclusion, has received the Avedis Donabedian Award 2025 as the best institutional page in the health and social sector. The portal incorporates features such as an artificial intelligence chat, professional directory, online donations and universal accessibility tools.
An intense and strategic institutional agenda
Throughout the year, the Foundation has developed a active agenda of institutional relations, with official visits from the Department of Health, the Minister of Social Rights and the local community. It has also participated in European congresses and sectoral governance spaces, strengthening strategic alliances with third-level hospitals, other agents in the health, social and educational sectors, as well as universities and social innovation networks. This networking places Aspace as a key agent in the care system and a reference in public policies for attention to complexity.
