The Aspace Catalunya Foundation is a non-profit privately owned institution with a vocation of public service since it was established more than 6 decades ago.

In 1991, the Generalitat de Catalunya created the Catalan Health Service (CatSalut), which "guarantees health care with public coverage, comprehensive and quality to all citizens of Catalonia" as a "public insurer" , and that offers a series of certain services.
As a concerted centre, the Foundation provides healthcare, social and educational services with the Department of Health, the Department of Social Rights and Inclusion, the Department of Education and Professional Training and the Barcelona Social Services Consortium.
