Institutional visit of the Catalan Health Service to the Aspace Catalunya Foundation

The Aspace Catalunya Foundation received this Thursday the institutional visit of the deputy director of the Catalan Health Service, Dr. Pilar Otermin, accompanied by the manager of the Barcelona Healthcare Consortium and the Barcelona City Healthcare Region, Monica Almiñana.

The institutional representatives were received by the Foundation's management team, headed by the president of the Board of Trustees, Enrique Mangas, the vice president, Carlos Sanrama; vocal pattern, Josep M. Picas; the general manager Elena Puidevall; the director of Institutional Relations, Communication and Marketing, Olga Gonzalez; and the director of the Department of Economy and Finance and of People and Values, Albert Canton.

During the visit to the facilities, Otermin and Almiñana have held a meeting with a team of professionals Rosa Coca (psychologist and coordinator of Petit Aspace), la Dr. Gabriela Ganc (neuropediatrist), the Dr. Bernat Bertran (neurologist), Nuria Esque (psychiatrist) and Ana Mangas (physiotherapist)— with the aim of learning first-hand about the Aspace Catalunya healthcare model. This meeting allowed us to delve deeper into the challenges linked to intensive care and addressing high complexity, a task that the Foundation has been carrying out for over 64 years. The center offers specialized services for people with cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities, consolidating itself as a benchmark in the field of complex disability.

One of the central moments of the visit was the presentation of the Dawn Project, a new infrastructure that aims to mark a before and after in comprehensive care for people with functional diversity and extensive support needs. The project has generated interest for its commitment to an inclusive and reference model on a territorial scale.

The meeting served to to make visible the transformative work carried out by the Foundation and to strengthen links with the public health system. Aspace Catalunya thanked the representatives of the Catalan Health Service and the Health Consortium for their time and involvement, highlighting the importance of this type of meeting to promote policies that are closer to the reality of the group.
