When art becomes a sensory and interactive experience, any barrier is broken. This is exactly what Aspace Badalona has achieved on its 20th anniversary: transforming the way we experience artistic expression with an exhibition that is not only admired, but lived and shared.
A collective project that inspires and connects
This interactive exhibition, promoted by the Ecoaula area, has been an example of how innovation and inclusion can go together. The paintings are not just static works, but they shine, speak and move, inviting visitors to be part of each story represented. Art becomes a conversation, a bond and a shared experience.
Each area of the center has created a unique piece that reflects its identity and mission. From Cooking to Computer Science, through Radio, Video and Autonomy, everyone has contributed talent and creativity to shape an unprecedented exhibition. In addition, each Ecoaula user has been able to create their own painting, ensuring that all voices are represented. As a symbol of unity and teamwork, a collective work has been created between the 51 users and 17 professionals of the center, a piece that encapsulates the spirit of Aspace Badalona.
This project has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Resources and Support Technology Service of the Aspace Catalunya Foundation, which has helped to take the artistic experience to a new level thanks to technology.
A success that crosses borders and generates impact
The inaugural event, held on March 7, was attended by institutional figures such as Florencia Badia, Councilor for the Elderly, Feminism, LGTBIQ+ and Functional Diversity of the Badalona City Council, and Carlos Flores, representative of Territorial Culture Programs. The event became a meeting place for different centers, entities from the social and cultural sector, families and professionals, reinforcing Aspace's role as a reference in inclusive artistic innovation.
Also attending were representatives from institutions such as the MNAC, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ASPRONIS Foundation, the Badalona Capaç Foundation and the Barcelona Provincial Council demonstrating that this initiative has transcended beyond our center, leaving a mark on the cultural and social landscape.
More than an exhibition: a message of transformation
This exhibition was not only a birthday celebration, but a tangible demonstration of the creative and expressive potential of people with disabilities. As a mother of one of the participants expressed: "I was moved to see the making-of of the project. The dedication of the team, the way they involve the boys and girls and how well they take care of them is incredible. This gives me peace of mind and hope."
These words encapsulate the true success of this initiative: it has not only been an artistic and technological success, but also an example of how real inclusion transforms lives. Because when we give everyone a voice, art becomes much more than beauty: it becomes change.
And now what? The future of inclusive creativity
The 20th anniversary of Aspace Badalona has been a milestone, but its story continues. This exhibition has reminded us that creativity has no limits and that true change is born from the sum of efforts and diverse perspectives. Now it's time to continue exploring new paths, breaking barriers and demonstrating that art, technology and inclusion can continue to go together.
The Aspace Catalunya Foundation reaffirms its commitment to innovation, creativity and accessibility, opening the door to future projects, with the aim that people continue to be the true protagonists.
Because when people feel heard and represented, the world becomes a better place. Let's continue to create, innovate and inspire!
