Elena Puigdevall is part of the new government team of the Unió Catalana d'Hospitals

  • Joan M. Adserà replaces Enric Mangas in the presidency. Adserà makes a new governance proposal, which for the first time is accompanied by a presidency team to deal with the new mandate.
  • The new government team wants to promote an inclusive model that highlights the diversity that La Unió represents, both territorially and in terms of ownership, making use of the Catalan Health and Social Model.
  • The new team's challenge is to position and make the model visible as a strategic axis for the country. The health and social system, culture and language as distinguishing features of Catalonia.

The Extraordinary General Assembly of La Unió held today unanimously elected Joan M. Adserà, director general of the Xarxa Santa Tecla Sanitària, Social i Docent, as the new president of La Unió. Dr. Adserà replaces Enric Mangas, who has presided over La Unió since 2016 for two terms.

Joan M. Adserà has presented the new government team and the main challenges of this mandate. "We are facing new scenarios that require strengthening the perspective of modernization and innovation in the governance of La Unió. A government team is created, inclusive because of the diversity it represents and with new leadership that incorporates the intergenerational and gender perspective," he said. Roser Fernández, director general of La Unió, will accompany the new government team to implement the strategic lines of the new stage.

  • We want to contribute to a debate and responsible action on financing and the necessary sustainability and solvency of the health and social system and of organizations.
  • We want to highlight the role of organizations in the health and social system of Catalonia.
  • We commit to providing proposals and answers to the most transformative changes to effectively advance integration and continuity of care.
  • And we want to do it from the commitment to a new social contract.
  • Promoting the value of the Health sector as a strategic sector of the country.
