Summary of international clinical practice guidelines

La Aspace Catalonia Foundation rooted in its experience of more than 60 years with the mission of providing a comprehensive and highly specialized approach to people with neurodevelopmental pathologies, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities throughout his life, as well as the accompaniment and support of his families, he has started a path of collaboration at an international level with pioneering entities in the sector, for this reason we are working together with the team of the excellent Dr. Iona Novak from the Cerebral Palsy Alliance of Australia.

The Cerebral Palsy Alliance of Australia has been operating for over 70 years. It is an entity developed by a group of parents of boys and girls with cerebral palsy who wanted to ensure the construction of a better future for their children with pioneering treatments, education, equipment, employment, recreation, independent living and research for to people with cerebral palsy around the world.

This alliance offers person-centered therapies, and provides life skills programs for people with cerebral palsy and other physical and neurological disabilities.

The main priority is to help babies, children, teenagers and adults living with physical and neurological disabilities to lead the most comfortable, independent and inclusive life possible and that is why the team of professionals work in an interdisciplinary way to maximize their participation in the community.

In response to these needs, they have been developed international guides of clinical practice to support children and young people with cerebral palsy to achieve their goals and improve their ability to participate in important life activities.

An international team of professionals and researchers, in consultation with children and families, have drawn up information sheets summarizing the guide's recommendations. These guidelines can be used to initiate conversations with therapists and support organizations to ensure that the services they receive are tailored to the needs of the individual and their family, including, however, links to evidence-based interventions to support to specific objectives.

The Aspace Catalunya Foundation has made the translation into Catalan of these information sheets so that people with Cerebral Palsy, their families and the team of health professionals can have this highly specialized information and thus improve the care they offer to the person and family.
